Welcome to the first Butsko Newsletter issue of 2009, developed as a means to increase the level of communication between Butsko and our clients and liaisons in the building and dry utility industry. We hope that you find this Quarterly Newsletter a worthwhile addition to the information you receive through your regular contact with your Butsko Team Members.
GREETINGS
Despite a building industry slump and a sagging economy that seems to be taking forever to get through, our firm has been and continues to be blessed with some tremendous project opportunities that have allowed us to pull through the difficult market conditions that we are all facing. As the spring bloom has replaced the winter freeze (or whatever we call it on the west coast), we are also encouraged by the recent movement that we are seeing in new land development and construction planning in various geographic areas and markets. With heartfelt sincerity we hope that you and your company are hanging in there and are, or will be, experiencing similar good fortune. We are looking forward to hearing from you, or running into you soon, as things gradually return to a better form of normalcy.

INDUSTRY NEWS
The Federal and State Governments have temporarily decreased The Income Tax Component of Contributions (ITCC) rate from 35% to 22% for SDG&E electric, from 31% to 20% for SDG&E Gas, from 35% to 20% for Southern California Gas, from 35% to 22% for Southern California Edison, from 34 %to 22% for Pacific Gas and Electric for Electric, and from 31% to 20% for Gas. The ITCC rate factor is being revised as a result of a recent change in the Federal Depreciation Provisions of the Internal Revenue Code (IRC), pursuant to the American Recovery and Reinvestment Tax Act of 2009. This decrease will be in effect thru the remainder of the year. AT&T and Verizon are currently reviewing their programs.
