BAY POINT — People strolling on a boardwalk, children frolicking on a new sports field and rows of new homes could be the future at Bay Point’s waterfront. Since 2002, the county’s redevelopment agency has worked on plans to reshape 190 acres of marshland and existing marina into a place of regional interest. Early next month, the county Board of Supervisors will consider changing the county’s general plan and making other land line adjustments to allow for waterfront development. Bay Point’s waterfront could eventually include a reconfigured marina, sports fields, an environmental center and as many as 450 new medium-density homes, according to county redevelopment plans.
